An Innovative
Take On Wellness

I help organizations fight burnout and build resilience—by harnessing everyday delight as a science-backed tool for well-being. In an era of rising stress, this method help teams reset faster, perform better, and thrive even in the most demanding circumstances.
I've Presented Here:

A Super Fun Way to Talk about Resilience

Why the ABCs of Delight Matter.

I’m a bestselling author, keynote speaker, and health expert whose work has appeared in The New York Times, NBC-TV, and many other national media outlets. I help organizations build resilience through science-backed methods that require no extra effort.

In a time of unprecedented stress, instead of adding tasks, I show people how to repurpose what they’re already doing—like drinking coffee—into tools for nervous system regulation and recovery. This approach meets people exactly where they are.

My work is grounded in formal studies in trauma-informed care, embodied healing practices, and human sexuality. At the heart of my work is a powerful but often overlooked pathway to well-being: the science of everyday delight.

This approach is rooted in research—and shaped by personal legacy. My mother survived Auschwitz, and her resilience taught me that small moments of delight are not indulgence. They’re essential tools for survival.

I call my framework Pleasure Literacy—a term I use intentionally to highlight how the brain’s reward system, particularly dopamine, influences motivation, focus, and emotional regulation. In this context, pleasure refers to how small, sensory moments can build sustainable resilience.

Pleasure Literacy activates neurochemicals that reduce stress, restore balance, and promote calm connection. These emotional buffers help people recover from setbacks and stay grounded, even in high-pressure environments.

Pleasure Literacy offers a timely, practical path forward in an era of deep exhaustion and ongoing uncertainty. Life is difficult. Building resilience shouldn’t be difficult too.

Hi, I’m Laura
With a Master's from Brown University, and certification from the American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists, I'm also an award-winning health writer, TEDx Speaker, Certified Trauma Professional, and author of THE PLEASURE PLAN, a bestselling memoir about my own journey using pleasure to heal from trauma.  I've been published, or featured in, many media outlets, including  The New York Times, HuffPost, NBC-TV, and PBS.  Fun facts: I spent four decades in theater, three decades in higher education, and two decades in workplace wellness training.  That makes me sound older than I am!  Much of this work was concurrent as I love educating from the stage while improving people's lives.
I’m passionate about:
Helping organizations build resilient cultures
Helping people be more joyful and less burned out
Giving audiences permission to feel good
Making people laugh, despite life's difficulties
