An Innovative
Take On Wellness

I help organizations foster a resilient culture grounded in the science of everyday pleasure, empowering teams to prevent burnout, recover quickly from setbacks, and face challenges with joy.
I've Presented Here:

A Super Fun Way to Talk about Resilience

Why the ABCs of Pleasure Matter.

As a professional sexologist, I apply what I know about the human limbic system (our powerful dopamine center) to help organizations thrive. Everyday pleasure, rather than sexual pleasure, is the focus.

Learning about the profound wellness benefits of everyday pleasure is something I call Pleasure Literacy.

Anchored in cutting-edge neuroscience, biology, psychology, mindfulness research, and the science of joy, Pleasure Literacy helps us avoid burnout by giving us needed breaks from the anxiety and demands of our daily lives. It reduces stress by triggering the release of dopamine, the "feel good" hormone. And it stimulates oxytocin, promoting relaxation and a sense of calm. These emotional buffers strengthen our resilience, enabling us to bounce back more quickly from setbacks, even in the face of extreme adversity.

Hi, I’m Laura
With a Master's from Brown University, and certification from the American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists, I'm also an award-winning health writer, TEDx Speaker, Certified Trauma Professional, and author of THE PLEASURE PLAN, a bestselling memoir about my own journey using pleasure to heal from trauma.  I've been published, or featured in, many media outlets, including  The New York Times, HuffPost, NBC-TV, and PBS.  Fun facts: I spent four decades in theater, three decades in higher education, and two decades in workplace wellness training.  That makes me sound older than I am!  Much of this work was concurrent as I love educating from the stage while improving people's lives.
I’m passionate about:
Helping organizations build resilient cultures
Helping people be more joyful and less burned out
Giving audiences permission to feel good
Making people laugh, despite life's difficulties
